A Philadelphia girl made a harrowing escape from a man who tried to grab and kidnap her off the street in BROAD DAYLIGHT! The suspect fled in a white sedan, and is still on the loose. Watch the shocking video.
Police have released a surveillance video of a 10-year-old girl who was almost captured by a suspect on the streets of Philadelphia — twice. The incident happened in the middle of the day when the girl and her 2-year-old brother were walking home. Fortunately, the little boy’s loud screams scared the suspect off, and he fled in his white Sudan.
In the video, the man is seen pulling his car up and parking on the side of the street near where the two are walking. He then gets out of his car and follows the girl, grabbing her and struggling as she falls to the ground. The suspect tries to grab her again, but apparently gets frightened and runs off.
“Ultimately, with the screams from this little boy and by her account, [the victim] says the child literally screams louder than anything she’s ever heard before,” Captain John Darby, with the Philadelphia Special Victims Unit, said according to NBCPhiladelphia.com. “He literally interrupts this assault.”
The Philadelphia police are offering a $10,000 reward for anybody who has information about the attempted kidnapper.
“I want this creep off our streets, immediately,” Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said during a press conference on July 18.
The suspect is described as a thin Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 40, with a height of between 5’9″ and 6′ with a thin mustache, short black curly hair, and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt and blue pants.
Watch the police video below, which is posted on Philadelphia Police Department’s YouTube page. Scroll to the 1:23 mark for the footage of the actual abduction attempt.
How scary HollyMoms. Our thoughts are with the girl’s family, and we hope the suspect is arrested soon.
