The Bachelor Embezzlement Lawsuit

In case the show itself isn’t intense enough, it turns out that there is some major behind-the-scenes drama, too!

AND Syndicated Productions, the company that brings us The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, is suing their former accountant, Iain Anderson, for allegedly stealing at least $600,000 in fake production costs! It seems “Bachelorette” Emily Maynard’s teeth aren’t the only phony thing on the show!

Deadline Hollywood obtained the lawsuit, which was filed by AND Syndicated Productions against Anderson and unspecified co-defendants in Los Angeles County court Wednesday. In the lawsuit, AND alleges, “Anderson converted to his own possession at least $600,000 in [production] funds and concealed his acts of conversion.”

Anderson reportedly did so by requesting petty cash for false expenses, mixing his personal bank accounts with productions funds, and recording incorrect payroll transactions.

If all of this is true, that means Anderson tried to get away with stealing more than double the money of what “The Bachelorette” herself, Emily Maynard, is making this season- and at a whopping $250,000, she’s the highest paid contestant in the show’s history!

This legal battle comes less than one week before The Bachelorette‘s big finale, airing this Sunday, July 22nd.
