'Vampire Diaries' Season 4 Scoop: The Love Triangle's New 'Dynamic' & More From Comic-Con

What will Elena be like as a vampire? How will her fangs affect her love life? The ‘Vampire Diaries’ cast answers all your burning questions!

The Mystic Falls crew assembled July 14 at San Diego Comic-Con, and while season four is still three-ish months away, The Vampire Diaries stars filled fans in on what’s to come — including how Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new ‘life’ as a vampire will alter the never-ending love triangle between Salvatore brothers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Let the angst, and spoilers, begin!

– Ian assured fans that, of course, Elena becoming a vampire will have a major effect on the show’s love triangle: “It’s going to add a really interesting dynamic between [Stefan, Damon and Elena]. … I think they’ll learn a lot together in a really short amount of time.”

– Nina also explained the differences between human Elena and vampire Elena: “It’s going to be difficult. … Everything’s going to be heightened and she’s constantly going to be struggling with what she is.”

– Apparently we will be seeing Katherine again — but not “until Klaus [Joseph Morgan] is no longer a threat,” per executive producer Julie Plec. (Quick poll: Who would you rather have on the show, Klaus or Katherine? Drop a comment with your pick.)

– Despite Alaric (Matt Davis) biting the dust, Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) will stick around Mystic Falls.

– And speaking of the good doctor’s boyfriend, Julie made it very clear that Matt Davis has an open invitation to return the show at any time.

– Damon will be pissed at Stefan for saving Matt (Zach Roerig) over Elena. Scenes shown to fans included Damon throwing Matt against a wall, and Damon sarcastically thanking his brother: “Now the world has one more quarterback.”

– Fans will learn more about witches in season four, which quite a bit of focus on the ‘origins’ of that crazy mother Esther.

I think that Stefan and Elena belong together no doubt about it. I think Klaus should be on the show bc he makes everything more interesting.

I think katherine and Klaus should be on the show…just to see what would happen, but as far as the love triangle. Damon is hot lol but he should be with elena cause you know stefan “the ripper” thing…what if elena goes through that stage and hurts everyone she loves? Ahhhh. Cant wait to see this new season.

Damon and Elena eventually, They so belong together, and Katherine I like her with Stefan.

There is no doubt to me that damon and elena should be together.
now for the whole klaus or katherine thing that is just so hard to choose from. now if i watched this right klaus is in taylor’s body so what on earth happened to taylor. anyway i just like klaus basiclly for a reason i can’t explain. now katherine i like her for her attitude and i’m really fascinated with how she is really different from elena and i love her acting skills so much. and then with klaus again i’m also interested with his love interest with caroline. so if i just had to choose i would pick…………………katherine.

I want to see Elena and Damon together forever. We all know that he is the one who REALLY LOVES ELENA. I am so sick of seeing her being stuck on Stefen.

errr between the appearance of klaus or katherine despite the fact that katherine is an interesting character, there’s no competition as to who deserves to stay! Klaus is a character in which the writers can explore more you know! As of the end of season 3 we have already seen a more humane side of him especially with Caroline and thus I am consequently a Klaroline fan!

If you are in love with two people choose the second one because if you really love the first one you woulden’t have fallen for the second. Elena should definitely end up with Damon in season 4.

it is impossible to choose between the two of them. the two are evil and sexy and they keep the show’s thermometer on its highest degree.

Klaus is more owesome tham Katherine.But for how long will Klaus be in Tyler’s body?Bring the real Klaus back and also Elijah.

I want her to be with Damon 100%! Stephan is a whinny baby, Damon is an amazing man. And I hate klaus, more Katherine.

Katherine. Hopefully elena doesn’t trip so bad. ‘Atherine has style and evil. She is a chick that’s similar to black widow. Dangerous and irreplaceable.
