Michelle Williams: I'm Not Having Any More Kids

After the unexpected loss of her daughter’s father, Michelle was forced to raise their young daughter alone. Now that her daughter is getting older, Michelle isn’t sure if she wants to add any more to her family.

Michelle Williams suffered an unimaginable loss when her daughter’s father Heath Ledger tragically passed away in 2008. She originally wanted their daughter Matilda Ledger, 6, to have close siblings, but as time went on, that possibility seemed further and further out of her reach.

“I really wanted, and I really expected or imagined, that Matilda would have siblings that were close to her age,” Michelle told People.

Michelle, 31, has moved on since Heath’s death, and is currently dating actor Jason Segal, who was recently spotted holding hands with Matilda. Although their relationship seems to be getting pretty serious, having more children is far from Michelle’s mind.

“I couldn’t make that happen,” the actress revealed. “And now that she’s six, that isn’t even a possibility anymore.”

Yea my poor only child who gets to go to private school, eat organically,and not wear hand me downs because of all the money I saved by making the responsible decision to only have one kid. She is going to HATE all the vacations we get to go on. And I’m going to HATE all the stress my body isn’t going to go through. But what I am going to truly hate the most is people asking, “Why only one kid?” It’s none of your DAMN business that’s why. I honestly don’t know why I am responding. Especially to people that cannot even bother with proper grammar. But that touched a nerve.

i dont agree with having one child only . to me is selfish to the child but is not like i would curse someone out for thinking differently than i do lol

however , i understand her fear , because to me thats what it sound lie , like she is afraid . but i guess with time and her situation with her boyfriend possibly turning into marriage later on it may help change her mind .

btw , matilda is just a spitting image of her dad ! she has always looked like her dad but is just stunning ! :) i wished my sons looked that much to me lol :)

Matilda looks just like Heath. It is no one elses business how many children Michelle wants or doesn’t want. She has done an amazing job raising Matilda on her own. She deserves congratulations not criticsism

just because she can’t have kids close in age to matilda (unless she adopts) doesn’t mean she’s not having kids. when you’re in love with someone, you sometimes change your mind or heart. she’s in a new relationship, who’s to say where it’ll go

um, isn’t she just saying that matilda isn’t going to have siblings CLOSE TO HER AGE? not that she isn’t going to have siblings at all? in any case, she could actually adopt an older child if she wanted matilda to have a sibling close in age. i mean, i’m just saying it’s possible for her to give her daughter a sibling close in age…

What’s the problem having “just” one child? Why isn’t that ever enough to some people?

nobody said it’s a problem, and some would say the survival of this planet depends on a population cut. however, there is also nothing wrong with wanting to give your child a bigger family that will be there for them when you are gone. as a mom to an only child, and a person who has no living parents and no living grandparents, i can tell you that i wish i were able to give my child a bigger family that will be with her when i’m gone- and i don’t think you should be so condescending toward that point of view.
