Congratulations are in order for Chris, as news comes out that his newest album is topping the charts — worldwide! Read on for all the details.
When Chris Brown‘s latest album, Fortune, was released on July 3, it quickly sped to the No. 1 spot on iTunes album downloads. Now, as first week sales figures are complied, it’s clear that Chris’ fifth studio album is a huge success, and not just in the U.S.
According to Nielson SoundScan, the album claimed the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums and R&B Albums charts. Additionally, and for the first time ever, Chris, 23, hit the No. 1 position on the Top Albums charts in both the Netherlands and the U.K.
The album also marks Chris’ career best Top Album chart debuts in France and Ireland at No. 4, Japan at No. 5, Canada at No. 6, Switzerland at No. 10, and Germany at No. 13.
In addition to his No. 1 spot on the U.S iTunes chart, Chris reached his first ever No. 1 album in four other countries, U.K., Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. He also hit No. 1 on the iTunes R&B Albums in an astounding 22 countries!
We applaud Chris on all his success with Fortune!
