Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise on June 28 after five years of marriage together. The two are reportedly having their lawyers iron out a settlement, but their 6-year-old daughter Suri is said to be the deal breaker of any agreement being reached!
TMZ reports that Tom, 50, has insisted that the settlement provide “meaningful, significant contact with his daughter. Suri is the primary concern in his life.”
The report further suggests that Katie, 33, is not keeping Suri from Tom, and insists that the A-list actor will be able to spend time with their daughter once he finishes shooting his latest movie in the Rockies.
Tom and Katie’s lawyers are said to be negotiating custody, visitation, support and property settlement in hopes of there never being a long, drawn-out battle in court! As we previously reported, a public hearing was originally scheduled for July 17 in NYC, but if all goes well and an agreement is reached, that hearing will not happen.
