Tom Cruise Divorce Settlement

As news of Tom and Katie’s divorce settlement broke, an ex-Scientologist revealed to EXCLUSIVELY Tom’s real motivation to settle quick: Scientology’s image! Can YOU believe it?

When news broke Monday morning that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had reached a settlement in their surprising divorce, we were shocked at how quickly it was reached. But sources say that with Tom’s image, and the image of the Church of Scientology, on the line, a quick settlement was his only option.

An ex-Scientologist spoke with EXCLUSIVELY, saying, “It’s not surprising at all that Tom settled with Katie so quickly. He desperately wants out of the public spotlight and is still terrified that all this divorce drama is going to open up a messy can of worms for Scientology. It’s vital for him to protect his self image and to protect the image of Scientology.”

But what about the custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri?

“I am pretty sure Katie was awarded sole custody of Suri,” our source says. “She can’t risk Suri somehow getting manipulated by Scientology. There is no middle ground for [them]. You are either part of them or disconnected.”

And of the joint statement the two released, our source says, “I am sure Tom wanted Katie to make a statement saying Scientology had nothing to do with the divorce. Instead, they came out with a joint statement basically saying that they respected each others beliefs.”

Our source summed it up plainly: “Tom had to put out the fire and the only way he could was to settle.”

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are YOU surprised by Tom’s motivation for the quick settlement?

To protect Suri. Right. Nothing at all to do with protecting Tommy and his creepy cult, oh no.

I am glad it is settled, and grown parents considered their daughter Suri. Scientology got a slap in the face and was silenced by Katie. More power to you Katie, we love you.

Settling fast and without drama was the best decision all around. Whatever works for the three of them is what is important. None of the publics business really. So, the best to them and their families. Divorce is painful enough w/out us making it worse…

I really disagree that this is none of the public’s business. These people are public figures and have derived huge sums of money from the public. The public is entitled to know, within reason of course, details of their lives–good and bad. They certainly didn’t mind having their zillion-dollar nuptials spread all over creation.

Exactly, the public should only hear success stories about Scientology.
