We’re so happy that Justin has reached out to Usher and his family in this time of tragedy, especially as new details have emerged to reveal that the man involved with the accident is a family friend.
Justin took to Twitter and, following in the footsteps of his mother and his manager, said, “My prayers go out to Tameka Raymond and their whole family. Keep them in your thoughts.”
The tragedy has seemed to have inspired Justin to remind himself and others not to take life for granted. The 18-year-old singer continued tweeting, “We are all blessed to have this time here together. To be able to share our lives together and live these stories. Don’t take it for granted.”
Justin finished tweeting with, “Be humble, be grateful, give back, share, pay it forward, chase your dreams, go for it, and take a moment to remember where it is ALL from.”
In other developments, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has investigated the case and their incident report indicates that the driver of the jet ski that tragically collided with Kile Glover, 11, leaving him brain dead, was a family friend, Jeffrey S. Hubbard, 38, HollywoodLife.com can confirm.
According to the report, “Hubbard was operating the watercraft in Atlanta’s Lake Lanier when he ran over two juveniles being towed on an inner tube by another boat at approximately 3:25 p.m. ET on Friday. Both of the injured children were flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. While the incident report didn’t identify any of the injured by name, it has been reported that 11-year-old Kyle Glover sustained a head injury and had been declared brain dead by doctors.”
When HollywoodLife.com contacted the hospital, we were told, “At this time, we are unable to give out any details on the condition of Kile.”
A media representative at Georgia’s DNR told HollywoodLife.com that Hubbard was no stranger to Kile — he was a family friend.
The collision, which occurred on Atlanta’s Lake Lanier on Friday, July 6, also involved a 15-year-old girl. Kile and the unidentified girl were being pulled on an inner tube by a boat when Jeffrey collided with them.
Both children were airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Georgia, where the girl was treated for a cut on her head and a broken arm.
According to Radar, the DNR agents investigating the incident say that alcohol was not a factor, but do not know what caused the crash. They may or may not recommend that the district attorney press charges, depending the outcome of their full investigation.
Usher has two sons with Tameka, Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3. While Kile is not his biological child, a source tells Us Weekly that “Usher practically raised Kile as his own,” adding “he’s known him for seven years.”
We keep Usher, Tameka, Kile, and their entire family in our thoughts.
