Katie is certainly divorcing Tom, but his alleged control over her may be far from over! Los Angeles attorney Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Katie has most likely bowed down to Tom’s divorce demands and will request to be anonymous at the July 17 hearing in New York City!
Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise on June 28, but according to Los Angeles attorney Mychal Wilson, the July 17 divorce hearing in New York City will take place in order to discuss Katie’s request to be anonymous!
Mychal tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Katie has requested a July 17 hearing for an order to show cause regarding the anonymous caption matter for her divorce case. What this means is she has to show the court why she wants to be anonymous on all the paperwork with regard to her divorce proceedings. The July 17 hearing will be open to the public, but all that will be discussed is Katie’s request to be anonymous. Once this is granted, she can move forward and ask for temporary custody and child support in privacy.”
If Katie’s wish is granted, all future papers will be filed under the alias Jane Doe or Jane Roe. Just as well, Tom will be referred to as John Doe or Richard Roe in legal divorce documents!
“Most likely, Katie has agreed to keep the case anonymous and sealed under a court order, per divorce negotiations with Tom’s team.” Could Tom have persuaded Katie to take such action? It would make sense considering that Katie was spotted crying on the phone during a lunchdate with daughter Suri, 6, at Alice’s Tea Cup in NYC on Thursday July 5!
“After the court grants Katie the Anonymous caption request at the hearing, the child custody and child support papers will be filed. Pursuant to the court order, any sensitive information will not be available to the public eye,” Mychal added.
According to our source, Tom is looking to keep his star status in tact! Mychal says, “Here, the big picture for Tom Cruise would be to prevent any sensitive information or dirty laundry from becoming public. He wants damage control where this divorce will not adversely effect his box office draw. Especially, with his next film ‘Jack Reacher’ slated to be release by Paramount this coming December 21st.”
