So sad! Tom’s milestone birthday was not only marked by divorce drama from his estranged wife Katie, but he was especially heartbroken because his beloved daughter, Suri, was on the other side of the country and couldn’t give him her handmade birthday gift.
New details have emerged about Tom Cruise‘s lonely and somber 50th birthday on July 3. Tom had a quiet gathering in Beverly Hills while Katie Holmes, 33, and Suri, 6, were 3000 miles away in New York City.
“Suri knew it was his birthday on Tuesday, and she said she had made a card for him and made him a gift, and it just tore at his heart,” a source told Radar Online.
The report states that Tom planned to spend his 50th birthday with his wife and daughter in Iceland. Instead, the actor flew back to his Beverly Hills home to have a “somber ceremony” with his older children with Nicole Kidman, Bella and Connor.

This irritates me on a personal level because it reminds me so much of my ex. Every time you see a picture of Katie in the tabloids Suri is with her, how often have you see just Tom and Suri? How convienent that he wishes she was around now. He seems the type to go after the kid to hurt the mother and I have no sympathy for men (or women) like that.
