Frank Ocean Reveals: I'm Bisexual

Frank Ocean Comes Out

The Odd Future member and R&B sensation — who has recorded with A-listers like Jay-Z, Kanye West and Beyonce — has opened up about his ‘love’ with a man. We’re so happy for him!

Frank Ocean is the latest celebrity to open up about his sexual orientation, and has done so with an emotional July 3 blog post which revealed his relationship with a man.

Frank, 24, took to his official website to post a long statement about his ‘first love,’ who was a man.

“4 summers ago, I met somebody,” he wrote. “I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide. Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile. Sleep I would often share with him. By the time I realised I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating to the women I had been with, the ones I cared for and thought I was in love with. I sat there and told my friend how I felt. I wept as the words left my mouth. I grieved for then. Knowing I could never take them back for myself. He patted my back. He said kind things. He did his best, but he wouldn’t admit the same. He had to go back inside soon. It was late and his girlfriend was waiting for him upstairs. He wouldn’t tell the truth about his feelings for me for another 3 years. I felt like I’d only imagined reciprocity for years. I kept up a peculiar friendship with him because I couldn’t imagine keeping up my life without him. I struggled to master myself and my emotions. I wasn’t always successful. I don’t have any secrets I need kept anymore.”

Frank has worked with a ton of A-list musicians, like Beyonce, Kanye West and John Mayer. His debut studio album, Channel Orange, will be released on July 17.

We’re so happy that Frank has taken this huge step in his life!

First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior
to writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind
in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any recommendations or tips? Appreciate it!

I do consider all the concepts you’ve offered in your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for newbies. May you please lengthen them a bit from next time? Thank you for the post.

people are saying hes gay when hes not.if they took the time to read the letter they would realize that hes bi sexual which means that he still likes girl. either way frank oceans sexuality shouldnt e a reason why people stop listening to him. hes an amazing artist and it would be wrong to stop listening to him because of his personal life

Its wrong to be gay,its one of the ways the devil has used to infiltrate our society. People don’t have respect for our creator, our hearts are so dark and our minds are full of atrocities that we don’t know what is wright from wrong. Even male animals don’t have sex with each other, or even female animals its just wrong. but since people can sing about the devil, and praise him and say ohhh he was misjudged by God and stuffs like dat, what do u expect. The devil owns the world, the media, so he tries to deceive pple e.g that being gay is wright. Jesus was hungry the devil told him to turn a stone to bread and eat,he came as if he was tryna help but really he was tryna deceive him.

I’m glad that more and more bisexuals come out, because we are pretty much ignored. It’s always about monosexual people (straight & gay) and no one pays attention to us. It’s irritating and insulting that bisexual people are often called homosexual. It’s like denying bisexuality exists. Being homosexual means being attracted to the same gender ONLY. You can’t be gay/lesbian and like people of the opposite gender as well. It’s like Callie from Grey’s Anatomy. She has been married to a man, she is sexually attracted to men in general and shows it, she has been in a relationship with a man even when she was with a woman…BUT SHE’S A LESBIAN. Wait… WHAT? Doesn’t seem right, does it?

I’m bisexual and I can’t imagine myself being gay or straight. It’s just not who I am. I can’t give up on men and I can’t give up on women. I’m in a committed relationship with a man but I still look at women, watch porn with women (sometimes only women) and I am very attracted to them. So please, don’t call bi people gay/lesbian, even if you mean well its offensive.

Bisexuals are even more confused and mentally sick than gays. They are gay by choice, because they are attracted to the opposite sex (which is right) but they want to experiment the same sex in order to do what is wrong.

If it was right to be homosexual then they would have been capable of reproducing! Being gay is not normal, it’s a mental disease! Society is forcing everyone to accept this form of immorality! It’s so sick, a man inserting his private where another man uses for defecating! A woman using “tools” that represents a man’s part to give pleasure to another woman! It’s repulsive!

I hate when people say that. I’m guessing you’re Christian, right? You do realize that most rules in the bible forbidding homosexuality are written in Leviticus, a book of the bible written to be obeyed by the Romans. Anyone who obeyed all of the rules written in Leviticus would be thrown into prison, for Leviticus instructs people to murder anyone who doesn’t follow the Christian religion, among many other preposterous things. To follow one single rule from that book is nonsensicl. I say let him, and others, be gay. Their personal preference of genders does not affect you.

If it was right for people to swim, then they would have been born with scales!

If it was right for people to have money, there would be money trees!

So don’t swim and give all your money away, because… it’s not right!!

Just a correction. Frank Ocean is not gay. There’s a big difference between being homosexual and being bisexual. It’s a whole different orientation.

My God is not a hypocrite or a narcissist. He does not want people to fear life or death. My God loves everyone and does not judge.

I’m sorry pumpkin but that’s not true…
G-d ” is” love but G-d does judge; rightly!
We all have a priceless gift, free will. We all have the right to choose our lifestyles…but let’s not make this whole “homosexual, bisexual, lesbian” issue something that it isn’t. People in those lifestyles have the right to live as they see fit, w/out fear of repercussion, or bias. But that doesn’t mean we, as a nation, should call what has been historically/biblically called wrong, right. I am a Christian. That’s my faith; my life, but the word ” Christian” contrary to popular belief, does not mean “homophobe or biggot”. I did not write the Bible, but I do believe it. I exercised my right to do so. Because I agree w/ what the
Bible says about homosexuality doesn’t make me a biggot it just
means I have a different opinion/belief. G-d loves “all” His creation, but like any good parent, He must call us on those things that are harmful to us. No “good” parent likes to tell their child(ren) no, but only a really loving parent will tell their beloved child(ren) no if it will benefit/protect them in the long run. I would say to all people’s, it’s not our place to judge, condemn, or do harm. It is, however, our job to tell the truth in love. We should trust that love, once released, will accomplish what it is purposed to do.
