Selena was spotted frolicking on the beach at Ashley Tisdale’s birthday party in Malibu on July 2 and she looked to be having a lot of fun with a Justin’s best bud — should he be jealous?

Justin Bieber was no where in sight when Selena Gomez was having fun in the sun. The 19-year-old was hanging out with Justin’s good pal Alfredo Flores at Ashley Tisdale‘s beach party bash.

At one point, Selena was seen not wanting to get her hair wet while she splashed around with Alfredo. Meanwhile, Ashley was smooching her new beau Scott Speer, and Vanessa Hudgens brought along Austin Butler.

Where in the world was Bieber?

Okay, we know that Selena’s a good girfriend and everything but seriously, why has no one taken into consideration that a) even though they may not be, it does seem like flirting to the public and b) you dont do this to your bestfriends girlfriend!! I mean, sure it may be all innocent and friendly but am i seriously the only one who finds this a bit too friendly??

Do yo guys really think she is cheating? I mean honestly give the girl credit I think if she were cheating she’d be smarter about it. Double standards.

I honestly cannot begin to explain how tired I am of double standards and gender bias. Boys have one set of rules and girls have another.

Yesterday, Selena Gomez was photographed at a birthday party in Malibu. Her boyfriend, Justin Bieber was not present due to rehearsals and other obligations. Selena arrived at the party with Alfredo Flores who is close friends with BOTH Justin and Selena. He is also Justin’s roommate. Another mutual friend of theirs, Quincy, also accompanied them to the party. Throughout the day Selena was photographed with her girlfriends, a puppy, etc. But at one point in the day, Selena, Alfredo, and Quincy were photographed on the beach together. They were looking out at the water, talking, laughing, and generally goofing around. There are several shots of Alfredo lifting Selena over his shoulders playfully. The pictures are harmless and it is clear that they are two friends joking around. Nothing more, nothing less.

But after the pictures surfaced, the Internet blew up with backlash. Selena, who has received a large amount of Internet hate in the past, was once again a target. She was accused of cheating, flirting, and treating Justin badly in general. Alfredo, who was actually the one to initiate the contact and pick her up, received considerably less backlash.

In the past Justin has been described as a flirt. He is known for flirting with fans, television hosts, etc. People consider it to be harmless and meaningless, despite the fact that he is in a relationship. In a recent television special, he hugs Katy Perry and she playfully squeezes his but. He jokingly tells her to continue. This interaction is much more flirtation that the interaction between Selena and Alfredo on the beach. But the general public chalks it up to Justin being a boy. Boys will be boys.

That phrase is ridiculous. Being a male does not earn a person more flirting rights. The lines drawn in a relationship should be drawn by the two people in the relationship (Justin and Selena in this case). And those lines should not be more or less clear for one member of that relationship.

Further more, Selena was not flirting with anyone. She was with two of Justin’s close friends. Alfredo tossed her over his shoulder playfully. The same way Justin picked up Taylor Swift (Selena’s best friend) and twirled her around playfully during a concert. Both interactions were harmless. And it is completely disgusting that young females are condemning other females in these situations while putting men on pedestals.

Selena attended her good friend’s birthday party with two of her other good (guy) friends. She had a good time, she goofed around, and she did NOTHING wrong. Any other version of the events is littered with double standards. Plain and simple.

I totally agree with you, i don’t get it why people keep saying that they’re flirting. They just being best friends playing around, joking and etc. She’s not cheating on Justin, he’s on work and she just hanging out so what’s the problem? They can’t stay together 24/7 it will be bored! And 1 more thing, DEAR HATERS, you guys always find anything to say something bad to her. I’m not big fan of them, but getting tired of people keep hating them.

thats all true but justin’s flirting is with poeple that he knows he cant get or people that know they wont be with him, if he was flirting with the girls in his videos then that would be a different story but hes not. selena was flirting with someone with the liking to be her potential boyfriend. and this is not the first time that she seems to be a little TOO friendly with alfredo.
