Spoiler alert: Stop reading if you haven’t watch the July 1 episode of ‘True Blood’!
The July 1 episode of True Blood ended with Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) loveless dry spell coming to an end, but not everyone on the show got so lucky. Chancellor Alexander suffered the True Death after he was found to be a traitor of the Authority, and HollywoodLife.com chatted with Jacob Hopkins — who isn’t actually allowed to watch the show, by the way — for the scoop on his character’s very messy demise.
“I was pretty surprised,” he told me. “I didn’t know [Alexander] was going to be Sanguinista. It was shocking.”
Jacob said the actual staking scene was “pretty cool,” and any fears he may have had were quelled by a very hands-on Christopher Meloni.
“Chris likes to tell people what he’s going to do,” Jacob explained. “He told me he was going to grab me very close and get in my face. I was prepared for what he was going to do.”
He also had fun trying on different harnesses, one of which was designed for Verne Troyer when he played Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies.
As for when the cameras weren’t rolling, Jacob said the set was very light — thanks, in large part, to an inside joke with fellow “Authority member Christopher Heyerdahl.
“I was sitting on one of those [swivel chairs], and every time I touched his shoe with mine, he’d be like, ‘You scuffed my shoe!’”
So have we seen the last of Alexander? Jacob was quick to remind me that “anything can happen” on True Blood, so you never know. As we learn more about the Sanguinista, we might just be seeing him in flashbacks!
