Tom Cruise Divorcing Katie Holmes With Same Attorney He Used Against Nicole Kidman

Tom has hired Dennis Wasser, the same attorney that helped him divorce Nicole Kidman in 2001 — do you think this will be a nasty divorce battle?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting ready to duke it out! The soon-to-be divorce couple have both hired divorce attorneys to represent them but a friend of Tom’s says the divorce will be amicable.

“I would hope that it’s not a contentious matter,” Bert Fields, a longtime litigator tells the LA Times. “I know Tom is not a particularly contentious person.”

Tom’s attorney represented him in 2001 when he divorced Nicole Kidman after being married for 11 years. Tom petitioned for and got primary custody of their two adopted kids: Connor and Isabella.

We told you that Katie filed for divorce on June 28 in NYC and she has hired Jonathan Wolfe to represent her. Katie has asked for sole legal and primary physical custody of Suri.
