Drake was attacked when his name was announced after Chris’ Best Male R&B Artist win, a source at the show tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY!
The public may have repeatedly forgiven Chris Brown for his violent past, but it seems those closest to him are still mad that Drake‘s bodyguards threw bottles at a club — and they expressed their displeasure at the 2012 BET Awards!
Chris, 23, thrilled his fans when he won Best Male R&B Artist at the July 1 show, but backstage there was plenty of tension when 25-year-old Drake’s name was mentioned on the telecast, a source at the show tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Apparently the June 14 bottle fight at WIP nightclub in New York City was still fresh on everyone’s mind!
“Everytime MC Lyte mentions that pu–y-a** Drake’s name, this whole f–king place is filled with boos,” our source says. The boos came from people backstage, including Chris’s entourage, and also from lots of people in the audience, according to our source.
Do YOU think people backstage at the show were too mean to Drake, HollywoodLifers?
