Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing after five years together, and while the split comes as a shock to many, Katie allegedly had a secret plan to leave Tom in the works — for a number of weeks!
A source tells Us Weekly that Katie, 33, rented her own New York City property just prior to filing for divorce! This new apartment is separate from the home the couple shares when they’re in town together!
Apparently, Katie, 33, wanted to make sure that her and daughter Suri, 6, were taken care of after the divorce!
Tom’s rep told HollywoodLife.com, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
