One of Hollywood’s most iconic couples is calling it quits after 5 years of marriage. Find out all of the details behind their HUGE $275 million divorce!

Here’s a sentence we never thought we’d have to report: Tom Cruise, 49, and Katie Holmes, 33, are getting a divorce. ”This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Katie’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe tells People. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

“Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children,” Tom’s rep tells HollywoodLife.com. “Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”

Tom and Katie were married in November 2006 in Italy, and welcomed daughter Suri, 6, into the world in April 2006.

A source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Katie wants sole custody of Suri, because “she doesn’t want Tom polluting her with Scientology. She basically wants to protect her daughter and keep her away from all these freaks!”

TMZ reports that the couple has a prenup and is worth a combined $275 million. Katie not only reportedly wants full custody of Suri, but also wants a division of property. Tom was reportedly “blindsided” by her decision to file.

We’re surprised by this news, but we did find it suspicious that Tom flew solo to the Rock of Ages premiere June 8 in Hollywood. Katie has also been seen looking “tired” in NYC recently, no doubt a result of stress surrounding the split. While Katie was in New York with Suri, Tom has been in Iceland filming his new movie Oblivion.
