'Awkward' Season Premiere: Matty Asks Jenna For A Second Chance

Thu, June 28, 2012 11:00pm EDT by 13 Comments

‘Awkward’ is back, and as promised, it’s awkward-er than ever! Do you think Jenna made the right choice?

Just when Jenna (Ashley Rickards) thought she’d secured a future with Jake (Brett Davern) and left Matty (Beau Mirchoff) in the past, the June 28 season premiere of Awkward forced the bite-sized blogger to choose between her studly suitors — again. In fact, Jenna was so preoccupied with her enviable white-girl problems that she didn’t even have time to deal with the small issue of her mom’s heart-wrenching betrayal. (One crisis at a time, people!)

After a night of deliberation — which involved a desperate search for an imaginary cat, a slap-match with Lissa (Greer Grammer), and an uncomfortable chat with an emotionally unstable Valerie (Desi Lydic) — Jenna, once again, chose to be with Jake “Nilla Wafer” Rosati. They even “DTR”d and became online official, which I fully support, as I’ve been a proud member of Team Jake since day one.

But the evening wasn’t a total bust for Matty. He did get to make out with a slimmed-down Sadie (Molly Tarlov) — even if he wasn’t conscious to enjoy it.

It was also a night of chaos for Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed), who was up to her beautiful hair in boy drama. That “lying sack of crap” Ricky Schwartz (Matthew Fahey) continued his mission to drive her completely insane, which is really the only thing he’s ever been good at.

On top of all the aforementioned drama, the season premiere also introduced us to a whole new mystery: Who’s leaving comments on Jenna’s (formerly) private blog?

Give me your thoughts on the premiere: Do you think Jenna made the right choice? And who do you think is leaving comments on Jenna’s blog? Drop me a comment with your best thoughts and theories!

Team Matty all the way! it’s obvious that she still loves him. They should totally be together. Jenna choose mind over heart but she made a mistake, her heart it’s with Matty. Matty ftw.

The premiere was pretty good. But really? Matty and Sadie.. Ew
Can’t wait till next week episode!

I thought, after Big Brother and all the other brainless shows, such as the Kartrashians, that White America had a cultural problem of male and female bimboism and celeb idiocy.

Reading about this program confirms it: there is a dangerous vacuum of interest in real life in our society. How ashamed future generations will be to see our version of the distractions of the Roman area: “bread and circuses”, hi-tech style.

We used to say, “Get a Life.” I’d add, “Get a brain as well!”

- Team Jake all the way, because Matty can’t even go public with her, and Jake treats her like a princess.

THANK YOU!

I’m glad Matty is seeing the error of his ways, but I think this might be a case of “Too little, too late.”
