Ann Curry Will Announce 'Today' Show Departure On June 28

Ann will finally break her silence regarding her heavily reported departure from the ‘Today’ show – with an expected announcement on the Thursday June 28 episode of the morning news program! Find out all the details of Ann’s impending statement!

For weeks, reports have suggested that 55-year-old Today show co-host Ann Curry would be replaced as Matt Lauer’s partner for the morning news program! Finally, Ann will make an official announcement on the June 28 episode of Today!

In an interview with USA Today on Wednesday, Ann admitted that the leaks of her departure hurt her the most!

“I don’t know who has been behind the leaks, but no question they’ve hurt deeply,” Curry said. Ann said she would make the announcement herself: “I’m going to have to tell our viewers. That’s what makes me more emotional than anything. I don’t want to leave them. I love them. And I will really miss them.”

While the Today show has fallen behind Good Morning America for the first time in 16 years, Ann does not feel her 1-year stint as co-host — following Meredith Vieira’s departure — was a long enough time frame to give her a chance to work out typical “kinks” in morning TV!

“You know, Matt and I have had great on-air chemistry for 14 years, been part of the No. 1 winning team for a history-making number of years,” she says. “That said, I just finished my freshman year as co-host. In every single co-host’s first year, there have been kinks to be worked out, and perhaps I deserve as much blame for that as anyone.”

Ann’s announcement will air on the June 28 episode of the Today show.

I can’t believe that people that she worked with for years could do this. Don’t worry Ann what goes around comes around maybe this is for the best , I thought you did a great job and enjoyed watching you every morning.

ANN CURRY SHOULD NOT HAVE APOLOGIZED! After 15 years of excellent, profesional reporting, she has nothing to be sorry about. Ratings, ratings, ratings. NBC has just lost my whole family and my extended family as well thanks to their heartless treatment of Ann. Meredith gets a 2 hour farewell and Ann a five minute goodbye with a patronizing one, to say the least, from Matt. Matt forced her out and got his way. So, they gave her 10 million as severence. Not enough in my book.

Laura the past replyer I totally agree with. It was awful the way they treated Ann. She did nothing wrong. She gave them alot of good years. She is a very special person. I will never watch it again.
