Khloe and Lamar Marriage

Khloe Kardashian famously married Lamar Odom within a month of meeting him, and they will soon celebrate their 3rd anniversary. So how have they managed to make it work?

Some people argue that the sanctity of marriage has been tainted by quickie marriages that lead to faster divorces, especially in Hollywood. Well, Khloe Kardashian is one person who can attest that some rapid courtships can lead to a lasting love like hers to Lamar Odom.

After only 30 days of dating, Khloe and Lamar tied the knot! Although family members like Bruce Jenner were hesitant about the two marrying, Khloe has revealed that her mind was made up and no one could convince her otherwise.

During her interview with Oprah, Khloe admitted it was crazy to get married as quickly as she did.

So, why did Khloe’s marriage last while her big sister Kim‘s came to a screeching halt after 72 days? There is not an exact formula, however one big reason it worked – is intention.

Khloe married for one of the most elusive yet powerful reasons… love. Kim married because she felt societal pressure to become a wife by 30 years old. The middle Kardashian sister was blinded by the fantasy of a beautiful wedding day instead of thinking through the actuality of what marriage is: day in and day out with the same person.

If you are not madly in love with your partner on your wedding day, then the odds of an enduring marriage are low. Love and being in love with your future spouse creates the foundation for any long-term marriage to work. To marry for any other reason like money, family pressure, lust, etc. is undermining the union of marriage and what it stands for.
