If You Can't Take Another Kardashian Sunday – Watch 'The Newsroom'

The Newsroom HBO Premiere Date

‘The Newsroom,’ premiering on HBO this Sunday, June 24, couldn’t be more the polar opposite of ‘The Kardashians’ and ‘Sister Wives.’

The Kardashians obsess over Khloe‘s DNA, Kris Jenner‘s ex lover and Scott Disick‘s need to party without Kourtney. But the characters that populate this mythical television newsroom, helmed by TV anchor Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) debate the future of America and the quality of television network news.

That doesn’t mean that they don’t also fall victim to needling their exes as in McAvoy and his new executive producer and ex, Mackenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer), or trying to push their new relationships into deeper commitment than one or the other wants. But then The Newsroom wouldn’t be nearly as interesting if it didn’t also involve complicated romantic relationships.

But it’s fun to watch the show deal with hugely timely issues like – can a nightly broadcast actually break news in the digital world and does the world want more news than just celebrity scoop – hey, it can want BOTH!

So if you’re not ready to put your brain on Kardashian ice, Sunday night, tune in to The Newsroom this Sunday. I will!

Thank you for a powerful fast paced program.
We couldn’t face another episode of The Mentalist. We were cruising (channel surfing).

Wow ! can’t wait for the next weeks edition.

I listen to Democracy Now.0rg and KPFKorg for my news. NPR is too tame.

I know how scary the happenings in the US are.

I so agree with every thing Will was complaining about.

The best thin about Jon Stewart and Steve Colbert is that they get the message about the hypocrisy of what going on.
Hopefully this program will reach a huge audience.

I remember the program with a Woman President. It was fantastic.
It was probably quite dangerous because It showed that women may handle things a bit more carefully than the men who are so eager to go to war.

Wiki leaks really shows so much about how insincere and two faced our representatives are. I wish the best for Julian

I was in Palestine a couple of years ago and was hit in the head by a tear gas canister. Needed 3 stitches.
I guess if our emails are censured I put too much into this one.
Hope you address the censure issues.

I eagerly look forward to next Sunday.

I hope your program will be on for many years.
Thank you.
