As her new film documents her failing marriage, Katy lets the camera catch all her lowest moments. Will you go see it?
While her new film, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, is supposed to be a concert documentary, the filming happened to catch a particularly sad period of Katy Perry’s life: the last days of her failing 14-month marriage to Russell Brand.
According to Us Weekly, prior to the split, Katy had told her management team that the longest she would go without seeing Russell was two weeks. This meant the she would often fly to wherever he was working to spend just three or four days with him.
At one point in the film, the 27-year-old pop star learned she would be going 18 days without seeing Russell, leading an exasperated Katy to ask, “Where are my relationship days?” as she looked over her jammed schedule.
All this traveling was beginning to be troublesome. In the film, a team member notes in a voiceover, “She’ll fly to wherever Russell is. She’s running herself ragged.”
There’s even a point in the film where Katy is on a plane and sadly admits to the camera, “I’m trying to keep my marriage alive.”
Us reports that, after Russell filed for divorce in December, Katy was visibly upset on film. “The truth is I’m a romantic and I believed in the fairy tale…I did everything I could but it still failed,” she said. “The dream of being in love is a lot different than the reality of making it work.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will YOU be at the theaters for a firsthand account of Katy’s doomed marriage?
