SWATH Director: Kristen Stewart Has Been 'Imprisoned' By Twilight

Rupert Sanders says ‘Twilight’ has been holding Kristen Stewart back — do you agree with him? Plus Kristen talks about leaving the vampire franchise.

Rupert Sanders, director of Snow White and the Huntsman, had some pretty strong words about Kristen Stewart and The Twilight Saga. Words that Twi-hards may find a bit harsh.

“[Kristen has] been imprisoned by Twilight and this is her breakout,” Rupert told the Sydney Morning Herald. “Kristen’s very talented and she’s got a huge career ahead of her where she will constantly surprise people.”

Rupert is definitely complimenting Kristen’s talent, but it sounds like he’s insulting Twilight while doing so.

Meanwhile, Kristen explained she’s not trying to run away from her fans, although she is ready for a change. “I’m not trying to distance myself from Twilight, but there are several films coming out this year that are going to compound the sense of change,” she revealed. “I’ve done things that are far and away from anything I could imagine, and right now I’m bursting with emotions and questions.”

I must be thankful to Stephanie Meyers for the books of twilight she has made. She has molded Kristen Stewart to a brighter future ahead and Kristen is most LOVED now a days because of that twilight series.I guessed, twilight didnt imprison Kristen for that matter. Kristen must be so thankful to the director of twilight series.And to SWATH, a salute to the director for that box office hit movie.

Rupert sees how talented Kristen Stewart is and because he reads and hears all the negative comments about Kristen and Twilight, he wants everyone to know how talented she is and that she has a Huge career ahead of her She will always be grateful to Summit and to my favorite franchise Twilight . She was a perfect Bella the way Stephanie Meyer described her character in her book. She is the most unique actress and I have enjoyed all her movies. Neither Rupert or Kristen were dissing Twilight.

Hello people the director Rupert said it not kstew, why the hate, and is just a matter of opinion, as far I know all her interview she said shelove playing Bella. And she playing well in both movies twilight or swath or any other movies.

Twilight was holding Kristen back? So, what was holding her back before Twilight? Oh yea….she isn’t that great of an actress.

Exactly! If it weren’t for the Twilight franchise, I honestly think that she wouldn’t have had the movie offers that she’s had. Twilight made her a big success, not the other way around.The only reason she is getting any of these movie gigs is because she has twilight based fans who pay to see her now. They get her in the movies because she brings the big bucks not because of the talent. She is a beautiful girl but she can’t act at all. All of her roles have been the same (acting wise), she has a blank stare, hardly any dialogue and the other actors basically hold her up through it all talent wise. But that’s just my opinion.

Rubbish. I’ve seen a few of her other movies. She was terrible in them as well. It’s the peter principle.

She didn’t nessarilly have to sign up to all the twilight films…Ok they probably give her a lot of money to do it but she could have said no…I think imprisoned is too strong a word…Limited perhaps but certainly not imprisioned!!!

Hopefully Kristin doesn’t see it that way because it’s the success of Twilight and us “Twihards” that’s making it possible for her to enjoy all those new and upcoming projects.
