When news broke that Robert Pattinson was planning on re-teaming with his Cosmopolis director, David Cronenberg, for a second film, all of Hollywood began to wonder: Could these two be the next great actor-director partnership?
Veteran casting director Doron Ofir spoke with HollywoodLife.com exclusively and said of the two, “Like Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorcese and Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, Rob has found a director who will help take him to the top!” Pretty big teams to compare to without having seen their first film yet, right?
Doron assures, “Rob’s performance in Cosmopolis is going to open the eyes of so many to his range and talent. He is just flat-out marvelous in the film.”
He even goes so far as to say, “David Cronenberg is grooming Rob to be an Oscar winner!”
Rob is currently attached to star in David’s next film, Map To The Stars, a darkly comedic drama about two child actors ruined by Hollywood’s depravity, though there is no current start date for filming.
