Justin’s real troubles may have just begun, as the case is moved into prosecutor’s hands. Sources close to him speak to HollywoodLife.com exclusively. Could he wind up in jail?

Following the May 28 scuffle Justin Bieber had with a photographer, we all wondered whether Justin could wind up facing criminal charges. Well, the answer to that question is now becoming a little clearer.

According to Celebuzz, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office has completed their investigation and handed it over to prosecutors. Nicole Nishida, a sheriff’s public information officer confirms to Celebuzz, “The case was just passed off to the D.A.’s office… it is up to the D.A. if they press charges.”

Justin’s fate now lies in the hands of the District Attorney of Los Angeles County, as he will decide if the 18-year-old singer will face criminal prosecution. Justin could face up to six months in jail if he is charged and convicted of the supposed crime.

But what happened to the potential deal that was supposed to have been worked out between Justin and the photographer, Jose Sarros? A source reveals to HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “At the end of the day, the best case scenario wound up being to pursue the case and let it go through all the legal channels and cooperate fully as [Jose] honestly believes he was assaulted.”

“…a deal was for sure talked about and in place…but it just didn’t appease both of them…as each was asking for too much,” the source continues.

The source concluded, “[Justin's] camp believes just as honestly that he did nothing wrong as Jose believes that he did. So the cops and courts is where it will unweave itself.”
