The ‘Darth Vader boy’ is back home from having his eighth open-heart surgery!
Max Page, or the boy who famously channelled The Force in the 2011 Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial, is back from undergoing open-heart surgery.
PEOPLE reports that on June 19, the 7-year-old boy will spend the next six to eight weeks recovering at home after having his surgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
At a press conference the day before he went home, the child actor said he only felt “a little pain in my chest.”
Max was born with a congenital heart defect and has undergone eight surgeries since. During his latest operation, Max’s pulmonary valve was replaced with a new, small adult-sized valve that should last 10 to 15 years.
“My teary moments were when we first walked in last Wednesday because I knew what was coming,” said Max’s mom, Jennifer Page. “As we packed up today and walked out that doorway, I fell apart in my husband’s arms again and said, ‘We’re going home.’ “
“I am excited about a lot of things,” Max said at the press conference, “especially having a milkshake.”
