Kody Brown Meri In Vitro

Poor Meri, Kody Brown’s first wife has been so tormented by infertility that she can’t bare the thought of finally trying in vitro fertilization even though she’d love to bear another baby.

Every woman who has suffered the agony of infertility can identify with Sister WivesKody Brown‘s first wife, Meri.

Meri has only been able to give birth to one daughter, Mariah, 17, and has suffered multiple miscarriages, in her quest to produce more children for Kody. Meanwhile, she has watched wives #2 and #3, Janelle and Christine, give birth to six children each, while fourth wife, Robyn, quickly got pregnant and gave birth to Kody’s 17th child, Solomon.

Now Robyn has offered to be a surrogate for Meri, and Kody takes Meri away to Mexico for their anniversary (God knows how he can afford this) and he presses her for an answer.

Is Meri ready to try in vitro fertility treatments to either carry another baby herself or will she take up Robyn’s offer to be her surrogate?

“I just want to know your thoughts,” Kody asks over a romantic beachside dinner.

And understandably Meri reveals that fear is holding her back from making a decision. “It just freaks me out to go through that all again. I don’t know if I want to go through with that again at this point in my life. I’m too young to be an empty nester, but too old to start a family,” she agonizes.

Poor Meri, she’s tried so hard to get pregnant for so many years, and has somewhat made peace with her infertility by enjoying the young children of her sister wives.

It must be so hard to face the possibility of getting excited again about possibly becoming pregnant, while also being terrified that she will just end up devastated by infertility again.

“I don’t have an answer for you, I’m sorry,” she tearfully tells Kody.

Fortunately, Kody is finally sensitive to at least one of his wives and reassures her: “You understand that not having any more children doesn’t change your value to me,” he comforts her.

Phew, Kody! I’m so glad you stood by Meri and let her know that her value is NOT based on having a childbearing uterus – but in the fact that she IS a wonderful person and sister wife!

Now, what do you think Hollywoodlifers?

Should Meri try in vitro treatments or use Robyn as a surrogate or just give up? Tell me now and vote!

I wonder what she will choose. She and I are the same age, and share some similar issues. If it were me, and my child were to be leaving the nest soon, there are so many other pursuits I would be considering such as college or hobbies. She is at a real pivital time in her life, and it makes sense that she isn’t sure what to choose. It seems she is past her season for motheirng and entering a whole new world of “Meri”- which is a good place to be, too.

I think they should all get pregnant at the same time, if possible. Sure Meri should go for it, try first to carry the baby herself and if that turns out not to work then she should take Robyn up on her offer. It all makes for good TV, I will continue to watch and if I miss an episode I will DVR it. I wish the whole family good luck in all their future endeavors.

I am all for Meri, becoming a Mother again. She is such a warm, loving and giving person she deserves another baby of her own. I do feel though that to be safe they should use Meri’s eggs if they are viable and let Robin be her surrogate.
Many Blessings to all 3 of them.
