Do you think Ian Somerhalder would make a great Christian Grey? So does Sophia Bush! “Ian has the smolder down,” Sophia told HollywoodLife.com at the 14th annual Young Hollywood Awards on June 14. “I think he’d be wonderful!” But the Partners star didn’t stop there; she also weighed in with her concerns about how E L James‘ erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey will make it to the big screen.
“It’s going to be an interesting thing, trying to make those books into movies,” she said. “I don’t know how they’re going to do it.”
Ian has been famously campaigning for the role of Christian Grey, first announcing his desire during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, then tweeting about it to writer Bret Easton Ellis. Ian’s Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev has also chimed in, telling MTV News Ian would be “great” as Christian.
Of course, just because she’s got her buddy Ian’s back, that doesn’t mean Sophia is a Fifty Shades fan herself.
“I got 80 pages in and was like, ‘Listen, I’ve got to go back to Steinbeck,” she admitted.
Fifty Shades aside, Sophia was attending the Young Hollywood Awards as the recipient of the Bing Philanthropy Award, which she received due to her activism and ability to raise awareness of social and ecological issues.
