Sophia Bush was honored with the Bing Philanthropy Award at the 14th Annual Young Hollywood Awards for raising awareness of social and ecological issues!
Sophia spoke EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife.com and shared, “I just got back from an impact trip in Guatemala, with Pencils of Promise — one of the causes that’s closest to my heart. We are doing a campaign. I decided that I wanted my 30th birthday to mean something more than just the passing of a decade. I think it’s lovely to put your 20′s to bed and hit your stride and really get into the next phase of life. I wanted to mark the milestone with something I could look back on and tell my kids about one day.”
Sophia admitted to running into Justin Bieber while raising money for those in need!
A star of CBS’ new comedy Partners, Sophia decided to use her personal life as a motivator to help others! She added, ”Pencils of Promise and I are launching a fundraiser and we’re doing a 30 for 30 project, and we’re going to raise $30,000 for my 30th birthday and build a school in a village in Guatemala where kids really need it.”
