In a new interview, Robert Pattinson talks about the gifts he’s recently begun receiving from fans while on the red carpet — and why his decision to quit smoking has been their inspiration. Read on for details!
Crazy fan encounters are nothing new for Robert Pattinson. Naturally, it comes with the territory when you’re one of the biggest celebrities on the planet. But recently, Rob’s fans have begun giving him gifts that may actually be beneficial to his health.
In a new interview with GQ UK, Rob responded to a question about the strangest gift he’s ever gotten from a fan by saying, “I quit smoking the other day and didn’t even really [realize] that I’d said anything about it. I’ve been chewing these f***ing toothpicks all the time. Someone noticed in Cannes and literally the next day in Lisbon, then in Paris and in Berlin there were about 20 people on the red carpet giving me huge amounts of toothpicks. Thousands of them.”
The 26-year-old star continued, “It’s funny: there are certain things that get picked up on really quickly…I don’t even remember saying it in an interview but I must have said it somewhere. That was kind of strange.”
Strange, maybe, but certainly helpful to Rob’s plan to quit!
