In the final season’s back-to-back premiere, we see how much the teen moms have grown. Well, except Amber who proves she has a lot more growing up to do.
Let’s round up what we’ve learned about the young ladies this week.
Amber Goes To Rehab
Knowing that Amber completely failed at rehab and chose a five-year jail sentence instead, it’s hard to believe her when she says she wants to get her act together so she can be with boyfriend Gary and their daughter Leah. (I’ll admit that it appears that she genuinely misses them both.)
Meanwhile, Gary continues to raise Leah full time by himself. He hopes that Amber’s rehab stint for anger management and substance abuse will work out not only because he wants her back, but also because she definitely needs the help. Her problems are especially amplified during an explosive confrontation with Gary. As she’s sipping a glass of white wine she admits she’s a “bad person.”
The second episode starts off with a harrowing 911 phone call; Gary tells the police that Amber has threatened to kill herself. Amber is taken to a hospital and we next see her at rehab talking to her therapist about how she doesn’t want to live.
The troubled mom completely breaks down in the next session — she really misses Leah and is scared that her daughter will forget her. However, Amber finally gets to hear from her daughter via phone call. Hearing how her daughter misses and loves her has Amber breaking into a rare smile.

Catelynn Celebrates Her Daughter’s Second Birthday
Time really flies — can you believe Catelynn and her fiancé Tyler put up their daughter Carly for adoption two years ago? They got a chance to visit Carly in New York right before their high school graduation! Even if they seem like the world’s most well-adjusted teen parents, that moment totally hits you that they are still so young.
Before going to the Big Apple, they have a touching phone call with Carly and wish her a happy birthday. Later at their home they blow out a cake and wish their daughter to grow up healthy and strong. They want her to know that she’s still loved even if they aren’t physically there for her.
It’s incredibly touching when they finally reunite in New York City — Carly has grown into a beautiful, smiling, blonde-haired toddler.
The couple seemed remarkably in control until they reflected on how much they’re missing out after parting ways with Carly. Both parents tear up, wishing they too could experience being mommy and daddy to their adorable daughter.
Maci Sends Her Son Bentley To Preschool
Maci and her boyfriend Kyle King take Bentley to daycare in order to prepare for preschool. Maci had a hard time letting go of Bentley, even though he adjusted well to his new surroundings.
In the second episode, Maci calls her baby daddy Ryan to take care of Bentley while she goes out of town to give a speech about pregnancy prevention at a high school. She receives resistance from Ryan because he can’t be there immediately. (P.S. Anyone else feel that Ryan and his friends were spot on when they said Maci probably isn’t the best example to teens because she was living with Kyle?)
Maci’s estranged relationship with Ryan also indirectly causes a fight between Maci and Kyle, where Kyle walks out of the house. But all’s well! After Maci’s trip, she went back to him and they quickly made up after talking things through.

Farrah Prepares Her Move To Florida
Farrah’s moving to Florida for school, and at first she planned to leave her daughter Sophia behind with her parents for a few months to get settled but she eventually decides to take Sophia with her. As expected, Farrah’s mother has a particularly tough time letting go of both her daughter and granddaughter.
Before she leaves, Farrah takes Sophia to her baby daddy Derek‘s grave site on what would have been his 21st birthday. It’s one of the most touching moments of the premiere when she bites back tears at the cemetery, trying not to upset her daughter. An emotional Farrah recalls memories and wishes that she and Derek could have spent more time together. She laments that she has to do everything alone.
