New mom Beyonce recently posted a poem on her Tumblr with the word ‘blue’ all over it. Could it have been the name-spiration for her little one?
Instead of naming her kid some weird celeb-baby name (ahem, Bronx, Inspecktor, Bear, Apple) Beyonce chose a relatively normal moniker for little Blue Ivy Carter. Now, there’s some insight on how the name came about!
Beyonce, 30, posted an excerpt of Rebecca Solnit‘s blue-tastic ode “A Field Guide to Getting Lost” on her Tumblr.
The poem is literally a love letter to the color: “The world is blue at its edges and in its depths,” it reads. “This blue is the light that got lost.”
Cute!
The Atlantic Wire was shrewd to point that Blue’s name came from a place of depth and meaning. Otherwise, the couple could have rocked something less interesting, like from Jay-Z‘s song “Glory” that he wrote about his baby: “You’re my child of a child from Destiny’s Child.” Ouch.
What do YOU think, HollyMoms. Could a poem have inspired Blue Ivy’s name?
