The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star totally fits the bill. Why have I never considered this?

Leave it to Lucy Hale to show me the light. The Pretty Little Liars star recently Instagrammed a picture of co-star Ian Harding, captioned “50 Shades of Harding,” and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. So many names have been thrown out into the universe — Robert Pattinson and Ian Somerhalder, to name a few — but not until Lucy’s kidding-but-not-kidding tweet did I even consider Ian, 25, as a candidate for Christian Grey. And yet, he’s the perfect candidate.

Mysterious? Check. Dapper? Check. Capable of robbing a young, naïve girl of her innocence? Oh my God, CHECK.

On top of those stellar qualities, Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James has said she wants to cast a relative unknown in the film adaptation of her erotic novel — and while PLL fans know every intimate detail of Ian’s life, he hasn’t gotten his chance to shine bright for the rest of the world to see. And he so deserves the attention.

So whether Lucy had a hidden agenda in her tweet or not, I’m officially putting the idea of Ian as Christian out into the universe.

Make it happen, universe! You owe me for killing my turtle on my 10th birthday.
