This movie was the best I have seen in 2012. Compelling and completely gripping, I felt that each time Robert came onto the screen I would not be able to concentrate due to his beauty, but his performance was so overwhelmingly excellent, so believable, that I was swept away to the 1890′s in Paris and into the lifes of George Duroy and his women. There was not one moment that Robert was not George, 3 dimensional and fully developed and I was surprised by the level of acting, the range of expressions and tangible emotions that RPattz displayed. This film is so underrated and so underexposed that it’s a shame more people will not go and check this out… for the great storyline and the great acting performances by the central cast.

Does Mexico not premiered Bel Ami on June 8, 2012, when released? and when will come Robert to Mexico to promote Cosmopolis, because he forgot?

Critics love Robert Pattinson in Bel Ami?! Ha ha ha , What a shameless lie! Just go to rotten tomatoes. Critics mock his performance. They despise him.
Hey, did he pay you for this article? Otherwise I cannot explain it.

The critics in Europe trashed this movie and then it comes to the U.S. and now critics love it. I, personally, saw it numerous times on VOD and thought Rob was fantastic. Made a totally believable Georges.

Bel ami got mixed reviews in Europe. Many, also British critics, loved the movie.
I’ve seen the movie 3 times and I’ve read the book. Rob was delicious as Georges Duroy. He managed to make an unlikable character someone you’d root for.

Totally agreed, saw it today and blow away by how wonderful the storyline is, how scintillating and how great Robert is. I wonder if the critics are hard on him due to jealousy maybe? How can anyone see this film and see his acting ability and not be completely blown away.

You said it! The critics have thier favorites and Rob isn’t one of them. They trash everything he’s in and that’s just plain stupid. When he’s in a new movie, I’m going to it. I think he’s good.
