'Duets': The First Contestant Is Eliminated

Did the right singer get the first boot? Vote now!

With just three weeks until the live episodes begin, the first amateur was eliminated on the June 7 episode of ABC’s Duets. Following the night’s performances, Kelly Clarkson‘s singer Jason Farol and Robin Thicke‘s singer Alexis Foster landed in the bottom two and were forced into the season’s first “solo showdown” … for their lives!

Jason belted out a chilling rendition of Billy Paul‘s “Me and Mrs. Jones,” while Alexis took a chance with Aretha Franklin‘s “Natural Woman.”

In the end, Alexis had the lowest score, and was the first contestant sent packing.

alexis was way better than jason I mean the guy has been in the bottom two the whole time on the show and suddenly alexis gets on the bottom two ONCE after getting in third and sixth then gets eliminated? crappy scoring system imo I bet next week jason will be sent home

Poor Alexis appeared so uncomfortable from the very begining, I’m sure she is relieved she doesn’t have to sing for her supper anymore,

Alexis was robbed. So far she has come in 3rd, 6th and 8th. Jason has come in 8th, 7th and 7th. Why did they score the first two shows if those scores didn’t count???

I thought Alexis did well with her song. Kelly was going on about how she didn’t like where she was looking. Did she really get sent home because of her looking at Robin?

I like the show. Hate the judging. The people in the contest should not be judging, and they really shouldn’t be anonymously judging. Did Kelly and Robin really get to vote on who goes home with each having a singer involved? Get separate judges next year ABC!

I really love Jason and am rooting for him as he gains the confidence he needs to compete with the others who have more experience, not more talent. Go Jason! Love your voice!
