Ray Bradbury Dead At 91 — So Sad

The legendary science fiction author passed away June 6. His grandson spoke out immediately following his death and said how much he loved him and called him a ‘big kid.’

Ray Bradbury changed the landscape of fantasy literature. The author had written more than 27 novels, most famously: The Martian Chronicles, Fahrenheit 451 and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Ray’s daughter confirmed his death to the AP and said he had died in Southern California.

Bradbury’s daughter confirmed his death to the Associated Press on Wednesday morning. She said her father died Tuesday night in Southern California.

“I’m not a science fiction writer,” Ray had previously said. “I’ve written only one book of science fiction [Fahrenheit 451]. All the others are fantasy. Fantasies are things that can’t happen, and science fiction is about things that can happen.”

Ray was born on Aug. 22, 1920, in Waukegan, Ill., his wife passed away in 2003 and he is survived by his four daughters and grandchildren.
