An entirely new crop of contestants will vie for a spot on Fox’s ‘Glee’ tonight! Who will be your favorite?
14 contestants are joining the second season of The Glee Project set to premiere on Tuesday June 5! Find out all the details — including Lea Michele’s thoughts on the newbies!
Oxygen’s The Glee Project proved to be a television success last season after successfully introducing its crop of co-winners, Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen, into the already well developed Glee — three seasons into it’s popular run. With many of the star characters graduating from McKinley High at the end of the 2011-2012 season, it only seems appropriate to fill the gaps with a brand-new crop of singing sensations!
The 14 contestants — up from 12 in the first season — will be happily greeted by their first mentor (and arguably the face of Glee) Lea Michele! And Lea had nothing but great things to say about the new kids!
“The talent is just as great — if not even stronger,” Lea told The Hollywood Reporter. “All of these kids, their stories are so inspirational and they’re so touching that I think people are just going to fall in love with all the contestants.”
Michael Ausiello, editor-in-chief of HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine, recently tweeted that Glee is looking to cast “three new series regulars next season, including Puck’s younger, guitar-playing brother.” Could one of the Glee Project players fill one of those gaps? Keep your eyes peeled during the premiere!
