Russell did NOT shy away from his marriage to the pop superstar — do YOU think he was too funny or too cruel?
Russell Brand‘s marriage to Katy Perry ended quite quickly, but he made light of the issue at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards — and we still can’t believe what he said!
Russell, 36, was a great host — but his comments regarding his marriage to Katy were a bit uncalled for!
“I ended up married to someone that I met at an MTV event, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled for my next wife,” he joked to the audience at the start of the show!
Russell also took Kim Kardashian down as well in an effort to make himself look better! “Kim’s quick marriage took the pressure off me,” said Russell, referring to his short-lived nuptials with Katy.
Do YOU think Russell was too funny or too mean, HollywoodLifers?

I don’t think he is mean at all, Katy has done 2 songs blaming Russell and all he did was just a joke, in fact katy is not as sad about her slip as she pretends to be since just a few months later she already had a new boyfriend. How the hell could she fall in love with someone else after a short time if she really loved him that much.

I love him so much! He did a great job. And what he said about Katy Perry was NOTHING. Why so much hate from her immature fans? When it was announced that he was hosting again those awards we all thought about being akward because he met Katy there. And he mentioned it! What’s the problem? TEAM RUSSELL!
