If the ‘Breaking Dawn’ newlyweds don’t take the MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss category by a landslide, then it truly is a travesty!
Who can forget the incredibly romantic Bella/Edward wedding in Breaking Dawn Part 1? And when Bella Swan and Edward Cullen finished whispering their vows to each other in front of their friends and family, the long, passionate kiss that followed, was EPIC!
You could truly feel the electric connection between these two, who finally after three books, three films and endless obstacles were pledging their love in marriage.
Think about what Edward and Bella had gone through: the revelation that he’s a vampire, their disastrous breakup, her near-murder by James, her near-death by drowning, his near-annihilation by the Volturri, the war with Victoria and the newborns, her kiss with Jacob and his agreement to at last “turn” her into a vampire.
The pair had history and they had intense, long term passion and all of that showed in their intense, long wedding kiss. And if that wasn’t enough, there was the wild honeymoon sex and the Brazilian moonlight makeout session.
Aside from the fact that this pair had chemistry from day one on set of the first Twilight movie, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart also have become real life lovers and you could absolutely tell that they were desperately in love with just kissing each other.
Contrast that to the quick lip peck that Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson , their chief competitors for Best Kiss winners, dove in for as Katniss and Peeta in Hunger Games.
First of all, it was an”under pressure” kiss to satiate the blood thirsty Hunger Games audience in the Capital. It was all about proving that they were “in love” to rouse sympathy from their cruel spectators.
It wasn’t a kiss of lust or passion – at least not on Katniss’ part. She was still deeply in love with Gale and while she cared for Peeta, it was the caring of a close friend.
It was a kiss for survival, not romance. The heat factor was zero.
Yes, Hunger Games was a terrific film and Jennifer and Josh were great, when it comes to kissing they don’t compare – aren’t anywhere on the same richter scale – not even close – to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart!
If that pair of real-life and film lovers doesn’t win Best Kiss for the fourth year in a row AND if RPatz doesn’t make a surprise appearance to accept the award with Kristen and FINALLY, finally kiss her on stage then something will be very, VERY wrong! Don’t you agree Hollywoodlifers?
