Two-year-old Cooper gasps with PURE JOY when he hears his mother’s voice for the first time! You must watch this incredibly heartwarming video!

How would YOU react if you lived in silence for your whole life and could finally hear? Probably a lot like this little guy!

After being fitted with a hearing aid, little Cooper hears sounds for the first time and just squeals with delight from his mother’s voice. His mouth drops, he laughs, and he waves his arms in the air!

You dont know anything either. It would be nice if his mother gives him a regular hearing aid or miracle ear aid, they do not need to go thru an operation. Having an operation with CI is very painful. My cousin went thru and she got sick lot of times and she has been very unhappy. Using sign language could be beautiful too. You dont know nothing too. What concern me now is that I did not see little Cooper uses sign language and even did not show he tried to speaking. Lot of CODA they already know two languave: ASL and speaking when they were 1-2 years old.

seriously? his mom just wanted to let him hear! she isn’t being a bad mother! maybe she doesn’t understand what its like being deaf. EVER CONSIDER THAT? and admit it, it you had the choice to hear perfectly, you would take it. You are deaf, you don’t understand what its like to hear. You’ve never heard music..you’ve never heard a baby laugh. You’ve never heard a bell ring or talked to a child with an adorable lisp. you don’t know what you’re missing, but the mother did, and wanted to give it to her child. and all this God’d plan bull..like seriously? so we shouldn’t give children with cancer chemo? cause its God’s plan? we shouldn”t give women giving birth epidurals? we shouldn’t try to find a cure for AIDS? seriously, some of you are just being stupid.

His mother shouldn’t make this decision for a kid whose 2 yrs old. He can make his own decision when he becomes an adult. If she gives him a regular hearing aid, that would be fine but she decided to have hin install that horrible device CI. I am deaf myself. I agree that’s horrible thing his mother do to that cute boy. Being 2 yrs old is very innocent. You should noticed at one point he tried to unplug that idiot CI device.

No. God did not “plan” for this kid to be deaf. God does not go around “planning” for random kids to be deaf any more than He goes around “planning” for entire families and villages of people to be terrorized and shot in their own homes in Syria. Saying that it’s God’s Plan is just an excuse to justify the crap that happens in this world.
This child obviously got a cochlear implant and he will be soon processing the sound he hears into information his brain understands. He will grow up having the pleasure of hearing his family, his friends, the cashier at the store, and if needed, smoke detectors, tornado horns and other warning noises the rest of us take for granted as to being able to hear.
If you don’t think he should be allowed to have modern medicine help him, then you should not use antibiotics, aspirin, vaccines … any modern medicine for your own needs.

As an atheist I don’t believe that god has anything to do with it one way or another. But I do know that Deaf people are a cultural and linguistic minority who are being disrespected and underappreciated. You look at this child and see something wrong with him that needs to be fixed. Deaf people look at him and see him as perfect just the way he is. Hmmm, I wonder which is a more positive and healthy perspective for the child. Also, I work with Deaf children. Some kids do very well using an implant, in the sense that they aquire auditory English. But they are lost between two.worlds where they don’t fit in with Deaf children and they are rejected by their hearing peers. They have identity and self esteem issues. Not all, but many of them struggle with these things. But that’s okay, right? Because at least they can hear. And just a reminder, implants are not 100% effective. They will never hear the way that typical children do. This is not a.solution that removes barriers. In fact, in many ways, it creates new ones.

This is wonderful for this sweet little boy. It’s really sad that so many people have so many negative things to say about this device and it’s ability to allow this child to hear. The ignorant comments are probably from people that are not parents. As a mom, I realized just how blessed I am that my son can hear my voice and I can hear his. Some of you people need Jesus because this is the wrong post or situation to get so heated about.
