American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will fight his horrible kidney condition by undergoing surgery on May 29 — we’re thrilled that he will be able to get healthy!
Phillip, 21, will get treatment for the kidney stones which are too big to pass through his system, TMZ reports. The condition left him in pain for much of the competition and already has resulted in eight surgeries.
Even though the surgery will force him to rest for multiple weeks, an Idol producer will allow Phillip and his parents to stay in his Malibu, Calif. mansion for the duration of recovery– what a kind gesture!
