Robert Pattinson Didn't Think About Edward Cullen Once While Filming 'Cosmopolis'

Robert Pattinson Cosmopolis

Rob was asked if he thought about ‘Twilight’ when he was on the set of his David Cronenberg flick and he said NO — watch the video to find out exactly what he said!

Robert Pattinson isn’t a blood sucking vampire anymore. The 26-year-old is doing his best to distance himself from his longtime character Edward Cullen. But don’t worry Twi-hards — he still loves you!

A reporter asked Rob if he thought about his bloodsucking vampire days while on the Cosmopolis set and David answered on his behalf saying that one doesn’t think about any past experiences on the set of a new film. When asked if Rob had anything to say he just said “ditto.”

Do you still see a glimpse of Edward in Rob’s character Eric Packer?

I will be happy to see him in new films too, but I must admit that I will always love Edward Cullen ( and yes I’m over 40) and really that role will never be forgotten by many of us and I think it will follow Rob for the rest of his life and that’s okay. Just to add…my 65 year old mother loves The Twilight Saga and looks for it all the time on Showtime where she lives so there are many people of all ages that are fans of Twilight. I will be interesting to see if RP can ever duplicate the success & allure of the Twilight franchise, and it will be great if he can.

As much as I LOVED Rob in the twilight movies…I will be just as happy to see him in other movies. You cant expect the man to be Edward til he’s 50. He needs to move on. Edward is done and over. I welcome other roles he’ll play. Move on people and get over it…if you cant love him as anyone other than Edward…then you are not really a fan!!

I like the press conference, although I would have preferred that outside in English, because the translation was inexact
