Phillip Phillips Kidney Problems

Philip Philips severe kidney problems will not force him to cut his career short, nor threaten his life a top NYC doctor tells HollywoodLife.com. Thank goodness for that!

Poor Phillip Phillips! The 21-year-old emerged victorious as the American Idol winner on May 23rd, but he revealed that he’s been suffering from constant severe pain due to kidney stones, throughout the entire show’s season.

Nonetheless, he’s vowed that his kidney issues won’t keep him from joining the American Idol summer tour. “No, no, no,” he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, responding to our question about whether he would miss tour dates. “I am excited for the tour.”

Now, a top NYC Internist, Dr. Robert Bos, explains to HollywoodLife.com what Philip’s kidney issues could be caused by and what his prognosis is. Will Philip be ok?

The answer is yes, according to Dr. Bos. “While his problem is uncommon, it it not unheard of and it is treatable,” he says.

Phillip apparently was born with just one kidney and has battled kidney problems throughout his short life. “His kidney may not be entirely normal. The anatomy, shape, or structure might be abnormal. For example, the drainage system from the kidney could be abnormal, predisposing him to get kidney stones,” explains Dr. Bos.

“Phillip may also have a metabolic disorder, affecting the way his body breaks down calcium or protein and that could cause kidney stones,” Dr. Bos explains.

“The surgery may repair the abnormality in his kidney or drainage system and can also remove large or spikey kidney stones, which the body is unable to pass on its own,” he says.

In any case, medication can improve the body’s ability to eliminate calcium or breakdown protein products and surgery can correct any physical abnormality in his kidneys. Dr. Bos assures Hollywoodlife.com.

“He can have a perfectly normal lifespan and career,” says Dr. Bos.

Well, that is fantastic news! Aren’t you glad to know that HollywoodLifers? We bet Phillip is looking forward to getting his surgery behind him and to getting rid of his pain for good! We wish you all the best Phillip!

Hello there! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after going through some of the posts I realized it’s new to me.
Nonetheless, I’m definitely delighted I stumbled upon it and I’ll

I think people are sorry if all they can do is too blame his illness for his well earned win he had to work harder than any body because of his kidney problem so find something else to gripe about like you need a life

Phillip’s kidney condition will not kill his career. The fact that he is not that good will.

Pity

Both are talented but Philip won out of pity. He got a good story to win. Of course, he went through surgery during the competition, performed and won. Wow… that’s a good story to tell… He capitalized his health condition to win. And now after winning the competition, he is nowhere to be found to do what all the other 10 winners did during their respective years. He is now under the knife to do what has supposedly been done several weeks back. If his condition was critical that needed 6 weeks to rest why didn’t he do the surgery right away? He chose fame over his health. For short, this person is a selfish person who will do whatever it takes to win. He can sacrifice his health over fame and he can resort to intellectual dishonesty just to win. Remember his winning song “Home”. He did not credit Greg Holden when the judges were implying that the song was a Philip original. He just stood there smiled, did not react and credit Greg and admitted what the judges implied

Philip is so raw and comes from such a humble background
he wouldn’t know what disception was if his life depended on it. He’s a kid who was in an unimaginable position of the possibility of actually winning the title so he chose that over his health. Not exactly the brightest decison but certainly understandable. But quite simply because of his beautiful nature we all fell in love with him. That’s what got him the votes. And when Colton left he got all of his votes as well. Sure Jessica was better and I’m sure he even got a lot of simpathy votes but this kid is genuine. Selfish, I think not. You’re so far off the mark on that it’s not even funny. As for the meaning of “a Philip original” they said this on many occasions that the song could have been his own, not that it was his own. And that is the moral of the story, he always just stood there and never said boo even when they tore him apart at times he always just smiled. I think that’s callled eloquent. So refreshing we just don’t no what to do with it. The world is all about negativity these days. He’s undergone his surgery and can’t wait to go on
tour with the others. What he does with it only time will tell. In the mean time, let him be a kid…

well, it is not easy to say that one we didn’t want to win, won because of talent, and the fact remains that philip philips had and has that “X FACTOR” in that fans react in an ‘elvis presley” way to him that they didn’t to others. Many folks sing great but few have that factor.

u should look again

SOMETIMES U have the elvis presley’s of the world and sometimes u just have another really great singer…there are tens of thousands of really good singers; and there are a handful of singers who get people going like he did

No way, Jessica is too young. She sings old songs that are not for her age group, she cant dance worth a crap and i am sorry but a woman needs to dance a little if she wants to sing R@B pop and that is what Jessica said she wants to sing. She didnt sing one song of R@B pop. She needs some more years to mature. Change what she sings. You wait til Phillip is 100% he will blow your socks off.

PP should take care of his kidney problem as soon as he can. Jessica Sanchez is taking his spots representing AI at morning shows. She went to Live with Kelly and asked “How Did You Not Win?” PP’s fans are eager to see him! Twittering is not enough! We wanted to see more of PP!

Jessica is too young and not ready? Philip is not ready also.. The guy cannot dance and sing at all.. as “PITY” wrote above…

“Remember his winning song “Home”. He did not credit Greg Holden when the judges were implying that the song was a Philip original. He just stood there smiled, did not react and credit Greg and admitted what the judges implied”

Philip is FAKE, weak and has no voice power.. the part on his song HOME..”aha ha ha ha ha haahhhh”…TOTALLY FLAT! You take the background vocals out and Philip cannot SING at all..

You do that to Jessica and Joshua and you will still hear PERFECT MELODY! Poor Philip, just rest and get well soon and PRACTICE MORE without any props..Let the world hear your true voice. STOP hiding your voice from the effects, back-up singers and accompaniment.
