Kelly Clarkson Duets

On this fun new reality show, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, and Robin Thicke search for America’s next music protégé!

Unlike all of our other favorite music competitions, Duets showcases a different twist — and that is the element of performing every week with your superstar partner. On the season premiere we watched Kelly Clarkson, 30, John Legend, 33, Jennifer Nettles, 37, and Robin Thicke, 34, search across America to find TWO duet partners! Jennifer, lead vocalist of Sugarland, and partner J Rome kicked off the show with a rockin’ performance of her hit song “Tonight,” setting the bar high for the seven other contestants.

After each amateur and their superstar partner performed, the three other judges sitting in the superstar lounge entered a secret score between 1-100 to rank the performance. Jennifer’s partner J Rome took home the highest rankings, while both Kelly’s partners ranked in the bottom two slots! (Big shocker from our pop princess Kelly, who looked absolutely fabulous!)

This one of a kind singing competition takes the judges out from behind the panel and onto the stage, in hopes to find a unique and special talent deserving of the ultimate prize—a Hollywood Records contract!

The good news, Hollywoodlifers, is that the contestants have two weeks to prove themselves before eliminations begin. With host Quddus announcing the show, and a combination of Kelly’s charm, Jennifer’s enthusiasm, John’s smoothness and Robin’s passion we are sure that these superstars will find the ultimate amateur to take over the charts.

Tell us Hollywoodlifers, did the premiere episode get you hooked on Duets?

The show has a couple of kinks to work out but overall I thought it was really fun and entertaining! The contestants and performances were great, and the “superstars” look like a really promising panel, so far my favorite by far of all these shows. They’re all naturally charming and funny. Not boring to tears like the Idol judges, awkward like X-Factor, or frustrating like The Voice.
