No hurt feelings here! Jessica reveals exactly what she was thinking when the judges called Phillip’s name! Read on for ALL the details!
Jessica Sanchez is such a good sport!
She really couldn’t be more proud of her fellow American Idol finalist.
“When they announced that it was Phillip, I was so happy… that’s why I gave him a big hug and I was smiling the whole time. I was like ‘This fool is going to win and I love him so much,’” she said.
While the two have both worked incredibly hard to make it to the finals, Jessica says Phillip truly deserved this win.
“He deserved it. Like literally, he has worked harder than all of us. We’ve all been working hard, but he’s been having to deal with his health issues, with his kidneys, and I think he’s been thorugh a lot more than us mentally and physically,” she said.
We’re happy to hear that Jessica is so happy for Phillip! We’re sure she’s going to on go to great things, too!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree with Jessica?

Eat it up A’merica! Philip Phillips, I just don’t get it. While he may have “talent”, he doesn’t hold a candle to the kind of talent Joshua and Jessica, among others possess. Once again, America has no idea what good is. So sad to see yet another “white guy with guitar” win again this year… Thankfully, the rest of the world understands this as Jessica is the one being celebrated around the globe. And as well this sheds just more light on how the USA is absorbed into their own “Country” thang. Put it on a corndog stick and eat it up ‘Merica. Don’t forget the mustard!

Humility and true a love for friendship… Jessica’s “this fool” comment to Philip Phillips is really a term of endearment… A friend that she truly feels deserve the BEST in everything…AMERICAN IDOL crown included. Jessica is truly respectful, polite, humble and very much an IDOL IN THE TRUEST SENSE OF THE WORD…

Good for Jessica for being such a sport. About calling PP a “fool”, I don’t think she meant it in a bad way. Being together made them good friends. They can call each other names. Remember PP referred to JS as an “alien”.. Good friends can call each other goofy names..That’s all.

I believe Jessica didn’t mean “fool” literally when she said that. I mean they have spent time to gether, played and kidded and have gotten to know each other at a very comfortable level. Jessica doesn’t seem to have that kind of character or tendency to be calling other people she knows bad names. She’s sweet, kind and respectful girl. Just saying…. :)

phillip deserved the win based on, most importantly, his showing on the last night of competition. that said, jessica’s duet with jennifer holliday— THAT was the best performance ever on american idol. yes, holliday made it so- but how jessica sang with her was the reason why i have been watching her so intently all season… waiting for those moments. b/c when they come- they are breathtaking… quite literally. for some reason, american didn’t vote for her when she did those types of performances, and jimmy was always trying to turn her bubble gum pop b/c he said america didn’t relate to her singing that stuff- but, THAT’S what it is all about. that is what she should always be doing- not this sh!t jimmy was trying to get her to do. in any case, i wish them both the best of luck, and i cannot WAIT to buy jessica’s albums.

Jessica was smart not to rely on her big voice all the time. Though it may have hurt her (as some say) I believe it was the right move to take advantage of the the Idol stage and show her versatility. I gained a lot of respect for that even though I was looking forward to that big moment every week. JLo was wise to pick “My All” by Mariah Carey. It’s a beautiful song that requires extreme restraint and tenderness, and Jessica pulled it off. If Idol didn’t lose it’s reputation of being a singing competition 2 years ago, I would have been even more upset about her losing to Phillip. But Phillip does deserve a lot of credit for his artistic approach to songs and his originality. That part of him helped me accept his win. Otherwise, Jessica was the best singer this year on Idol.

She is just being professional. Everyone except for 12-year old girls know that Phil Philips had no business even being in the top 24.
This was so ridiculous that American Idol producers announced a week after the finale that they now recognize they need to make major changes to the voting process so that the most talented singers can again win, and they will be changing it next year to put a stop to this ridiculousness of these crappy singers being power-voted by hormonal girls. Their viewership is dropping like a rock because America knows idol stopped being singing competition five years ago.
Notice that in the month after Idol, Jessica Sanchez has been getting invited to perform at huge national events numerous times, and has multitudes more press coverage. America knows who the winner of the Singing Competition is. Phil Philips simply won the hearts of the power-voting teenyboppers.
