The season finale of ‘Revenge’ brought Emily face-to-face with her worst enemy of all — but that wasn’t the biggest surprise of the night!
Through trickery and a fake break-in, Emily (Emily VanCamp) secured the evidence linking everyone to the terrorist attack on the May 23 season finale of Revenge; all she needed was Nolan (Gabriel Mann) to break into the Grayson Global security protecting the software. But her trusted confidant was unreachable, and when Emily arrived at his house looking for him, she found a message urging her to call the white-haired man. Eventually, they agreed to meet face-to-face — as if Emily would handle avenging her father’s death any other way.
After chloroforming herself to maintain secrecy, Emily woke up handcuffed next to Nolan, and the white-haired man threatened to torture her friend if she didn’t tell him where she hid the evidence. Emily revealed a fake location, broke herself and Nolan free from the handcuffs, then waited patiently for her foe to return, while Nolan took the evidence to Victoria’s (Madeleine Stowe) SEC agent. Emily’s training really paid off, because she kicked serious butt in the final showdown with the white-haired man — but instead of murdering him, she chose to walk away!
While Conrad (Henry Czerny) proposed in order to keep Lydia (Amber Valletta) from testifying against him, Victoria learned her ex-husband had ordered David (James Tupper) killed, which made her want to do the most shocking thing a Grayson could do — tell the truth! And she had fully immunity, so who could really blame her?
Meanwhile, Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) attempted to get retribution against Declan (Connor Paolo) by exposing his school project partner as a “tramp” who was caught as a minor with her history teacher. Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) also finally broke the news about the kiss between Emily and Jack (Nick Weschler) to Daniel (Josh Bowman), and after confronting his fiancée, they decided to call it quits. Emily decided to tell Jack everything, but her plans were ruined when Amanda (Margarita Levieva) returned to the Hamptons with a little more than she left with: a baby!
As if this finale hadn’t reached its peak of jaw-droppingness, Victoria, Lydia and others who planned to testify against Conrad, boarded a plane that exploded, apparently leaving no survivors. It was literally a “blast from the past.” (Seriously, if a plane explodes, a Grayson’s name is attached to it.) To make things worse, Charlotte called Declan for comfort after hearing of her mother’s possible death, and when he ignored her, she turned to drugs — for the last time!
But just when Emily thought all the evidence that exonerated her father disappeared along with the people on the plane, Nolan saved the day once again! He backed up the hard drive from Grayson Global, and Emily learned her father’s death went way beyond the Graysons.
Oh, also… her mother is still alive!
It’s going to be a long summer waiting for season two, but at least we had this epic finale! What do you make of the big twist with Emily’s mom? Do you think Charlotte is really dead? And what about the passengers aboard the plane? Drop a comment with your thoughts and theories!

I hope charlotte is not dead (NO!) She’s one of the only characters inside this fold without secret agendas, and she’s emily’s half-sister. It seems more likely victoria would really be dead.. (It would be a shock.) Victoria couldn’t be emily’s mom- that makes no sense and emily and daniel hooking up?eww!
I wanted faux-amanda and jack together because the real amanda clarke is really dark (“she died” and became emily thorne, remember?) And faux-amanda seemed sorta good for him. But.. I felt enormously bad for ems. As for the nolan being emily’s brother theory, whaaa? Smocking crack? (Not just responding to above writer but all the crazy theories I heard!!) And nolan and ems hooking up? Whaaa? Some things have to be what they seem. (Have the ppl posting here watched ringer? I will miss ringer.. Had some nice comparisons to revenge but they made revenge easier to understand with each episode being themed nd the revenge thing hammered in. Simplicity, cadences.) Anyway, I don’t think emily’s mom stayed away to “protect” anyone. I think ems mom must be pretty evil and powerful, making victoria look like fish food. Totally intrigued. Questions: did ems mom love david clarke? Did victoria love david clarke?
I heard something about a dark secret of david clarkes on victorias video… He always seems like a saint… I don’t think that will change tho. I think he sort of was a saint. Next.. Lydia. I heard it suggested she was ems mom, which gave me pause for thought. I could see it but I’d rather it be someone else. Finally, why did the grey haired man wink at gobsmacked ems and keep her secret? Guess he has some interest in not outing her to the graysons. I hope emily and daniel get back together- seeing ems deal with the lie in an intimate relationship is emotionally provocative and rich.
