After nearly a dozen performances, Rihanna’s hit single and a live proposal, the ‘American Idol’ winner was finally named! Are YOU happy with who won?

And then there were two… Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips were the final American Idol contestants of the season — and after a two hour finale filled with non-stop talent, a season 11 was FINALLY named.

Ryan Seacrest broke the news that Phillip was the official winner and the crowd went wild. (We called it!) The 21-year-old Georgia native couldn’t say a word and just started singing his new single. However, half way through he started tearing up and started hugging his family and the judges. We’re so happy for him!

Well, folks — that’s a wrap with season 11. Are YOU happy with the results?

They will both do something with their singing career. People will always be racist,judgmental,and rude, hopefully they will go along way. To me they are both winners. Good for both of them. I have heard a lot worse than both of them on the radio! Haters will hate…SMH…

Contrary to what’s been said it’s not all about who has a better voice, it’s called American Idol not The Voice. To win you have to have the whole package (voice, looks, artistry, etc.) and you have to appeal to a large audience. Obviously some of you will disagree with the votes but it is America that voted for it. They were both great. I think that Phillip pulled ahead with his artistry and blatant disregard of what others want him to do (being yourself, it’s not a bad thing and not disrespectful as many have said). Honestly I liked them both and they both deserved to be there but I would rather listen to a Phillip CD than a Jessica CD.

Why is it always about race? Oh the white man wins….really? Our country is all about let’s help any other country but ours, any other nationality but ours. If you make yourself seperate, one from another, than your racist! We are all here on this planet for a reason, living and breathing the same, its how you choose to think and act that makes a person, not the color of their skin. Very sad how some people will hate for no reason.

I disagree and very disappointed. That they choosed Phillips over Sanchez it suppose to be about having the best voice and Sanchez had it. I’m sure not going to watch it next year. Jessica deserved to win. They were really wrong about the winner I know for sure she’ll be making more albums then him.

Whatever. It’s an amateur competition. In the end, they are all amateurs. There’s no reason to make a big deal about it. Completions like American Idol, the X Factor and the Voice rarely produce legitimate mainstream stars. The success rate is probably around 10 percent. Hey, remember that one chick, Crystal Bowersock? That’s right. Nobody does. Didn’t she finish second? The end result is totally irrelevant. The reason it doesn’t matter is because the vast majority of actual American Idols couldn’t win American Idol. The formula they are using to judge people is all wrong. They are emphasizing the wrong stuff and ignoring all the stuff that actually matters.

I think Phillip was the better one out of the two. Jessica is a goos singer and will still make music. She is someone I would never go see in concert or buy her CD. She is a one trick pony, we need something different and unique, and I think Mr. Phillips fits that. Jessica would be good on Glee.

Two excellent performers/singers///how do we choose? Both are gifted and both equally good…someone has to win….congrats to Philip and to Jessica….great job….make records and sell…become famous and wealthy and we look forward to great music…wow…really nice.

they got it wrong.. Ms. Sanchez should’ve won, now they lost ten times bigtime! Jessica will now strike them back for sure. still congratulations for the winner. No more idol for me next season, they lost their credibility 100%.

I’m really disappointed in the results Jessica clearly had the better voice, the only real thing Phillip had going for him is a good stage name no offense to Jennifer Lopez but she had a love affair with Phillips from the start “Idol” has become a beauty contest for pre teen girls and not music ability, the only good thing coming out of it is that every other winner besides Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, are doing nothing anymore maybe next year veiwers will wake up and vote for the best singer.

I’m not happy with the result..Jessica should have won. This is crazy coz I think racism still exist.I don’t believe it’s about the vote, the management did something so Phillip could win. It’s obvious they did a wrong song for jessica in the finale and favor for Phillip. American idol just couldn’t accept that a Filipina-Latina singer is better than American

we vote for vioce not for the looks and manipulated by the creator…. can you sing like that,… pinay girl…you’re looking for the best singer . fair to winner.. he is good. but not excellent as jessica. winner has no vesatiliy and no power at all….you’re looking for a power house vioce, versatile and flexible singer…

I am not sure people will listen to him rambling with his guitar wthout all those full orchestra back up and props. anyway, congrats, i will not say you deserve it but that life, there will always be a winner and a loser, no matter how did it happen.

American Idol should just have guy contestants cause only guys win now. However, I am glad that Phillip won. At the end when he couldnt even finish his song and walked off stage and just hugged his family was the best part of the whole show.

all im gonna say is i think Jessica should’ve won. I think the songs that like the judges picked were completely wrong for her vocals. Shes still gonna make it far and we all know that! Maybe farther than Phillip i mean wheres Kris Allen? Wheres Taylor Hicks or David Cook? They all won but they like disappeared.
