Lifetime’s go-to guy for docudramas is back again! Rob will star as Jeff Ashton, the prosecutor in the Casey Anthony trial. Oscar Nunez from ‘The Office’ is also slated as Casey’s lawyer.
The latest Lifetime drama Prosecuting Casey Anthony is well on its way with its top brass lawyer roles already filled out by actors Rob Lowe and Oscar Nunez!
“It’s gonna be interesting … I think people are gonna dig it … great script,” Rob, 48, told TMZ on May 21. Rob, who will play lead prosecutor Jeff Ashton, said filming is about to begin on the 28th and the movie should be out in January 2013.
Casey’s attorney, Jose Baez, will be played by Oscar, 53, from The Office, Radar Online reported on May 21. “He did a fantastic audition that was so persuasive dramatically,” the movie’s writer Alison Cross said about Oscar.
The trial was the focus of intense public scrutiny in 2011 when Casey, then 25, was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, despite the massive evidence against Casey. Do you think the film will examine what went wrong?
