Mary’s family will be hosting a memorial service in NYC on May 21 at The Standard Hotel but her estranged husband didn’t get an invite — so instead he took his four kids to Florida.
If Robert F. Kennedy Jr can’t go to his wife’s memorial service then neither can his children. The New York Post is reporting that Mary Richardson Kennedy‘s family snubbed Robert by not asking him to attend her private memorial that will be held at the Standard Hotel.
Mary’s family got into a bitter battle with RFK Jr., right before the funeral over who would have the rights to her body, and Robert won. The New York Post reports that only one of Mary’s siblings attended the funeral and that his eulogy was totally self-serving.
The family is holding the private service at the hotel because she was close with the owner Andre Balazs. But since Robert wasn’t invited to attend, he took his kids to Florida to stay with their grandmother.
“He was a very terrible husband,” a friend says. “But he’s a very good father.”
Robert filed for divorce from Mary in 2010 and was fighting to get custody of their four children. She was buried near the family compound against the wishes of her family.
