Amidst new reports that Katy broke up with her Florence + the Machine guitarist boy toy, Robert Ackroyd she belted out another breakup anthem and her newest performance in a wedding dress on May 20 was absolutely amazing!
Katy Perry should really thank Russell Brand because she’s giving the best performances of her career! The singer sang her single “Wide Awake” and she wore what looked to be a wedding dress, and she had a groom there too!
Katy was singing lyrics like: “I was in the dark/I was falling hard/With an open heart/I’m wide awake/How did I read the stars so wrong.”
Before she sang the song, she accepted the Spotlight Award for amassing five #1 hits from her Teenage Dream album. The only person to ever receive this award before her was Michael Jackson. During her speech she said: “Tonight, later, when I get on the stage, I’m going to be singing my personal, intimate song.”
More lyrics from her song are: “I wish I knew then/What I know now/Wouldn’t dive in/Wouldn’t bow down/Gravity hurts/You made it so sweet/Till I woke up on/On the concrete.”
Katy is truly skyrocketing to pure greatness and it’s because she rid herself of Russell’s toxic energy. Let’s just hope that she agrees to attend the MTV Movie Awards on June 4 and not skip just because Russell is hosting.
